There was a young lady who just left our care here at Active Life Health and Wellness. She first came in to be treated for her terrible scoliosis, but soon found we could help her with many health concerns including sleeping disorders, fatigue, neck pain, back pain, immune deficiency, among many other things. Correcting a scoliosis can be difficult, but at Active Life Health and Wellness, we’ve had excellent results with correcting scoliosis. One of her problems was that her neck curved the wrong way. A normal neck curve should be 43-45 degrees. Without that curve in your neck, your neck begins to deteriorate.

Knee pain is one of the most common problems next to spinal conditions of the musculoskeletal system . There are three categories – problems of the knee can be classified under: 1. Trauma – injury to the knee (sports etc…) 2. Arthritic changes in the knee 3. Poor mechanics or overuse of the knee Trauma – Injuries often occur during activities involving in running and jumping. When the knee is stretched beyond the strength of the ligaments – tearing of tissues can occur and cause sprain and strain. The injury can vary from minor to one that requires surgery. Poor mechanics of the Knee can lead to Chondromalacia Patella: Knee stress due to poor mechanics is one of the most common causes of non-traumatic pain. The patella (knee cap) is most common affected part of the knee. The problem usually stems from imbalances of the quadriceps muscles (of the thigh) – which attaches to and moves the patella. With the combination of imbalanced muscles and poor mechanics – when bending and moving around puts a strain on the tendons, cartilage and ligaments in which the patella is attached to.

In our office, we have decided that being an insulated little office does nothing to help our community and the Las Vegas valley at large. Along with helping people regain their true health, we also feel we need to be active members of our community. One of the things we do to achieve this is to take part in as many Las Vegas and North Las Vegas events as possible.
